There are some issues out there that are coming to the forefront that are actually useful and beneficial to the development of society, but the idea that you can sue your parents for giving birth you without your consent is absolutely ridiculous to me though.

This is the course of action being pursued by 27 year Raphael Samuel from Mumbai in India, who is vexed with his parents’ decision to bring him into the world as it clashes greatly with his anti natal beliefs. However, despite this he also reckons that he has a great relationship with his parents and his life has been amazing – sounds like a grade A bellend to be honest.

Here’s what he had to say:

No Babies

I want to tell all Indian kids that they don’t owe their parents anything

I love my parents, and we have a great relationship, but they had me for their joy and their pleasure.

My life has been amazing, but I don’t see why I should put another life through the rigmarole of school and finding a career, especially when they didn’t ask to exist.

Other Indian people must know that it is an option not to have children, and to ask your parents for an explanation as to why they gave birth to you.

Yeah I dunno if he’s really convincing me there but apparently this is a growing movement in India, known as the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement. They’re planning their first national meeting in Bengaluru on February 10th to decide how they want to develop the movement, although they have already agreed to being non violent in spreading their message.

No news on whether or not the trial will have taken place by then or if it’s even going to go to court, but I’m gonna be very interested in seeing how it plays out because it seems like it’s going to be absolutely ridiculous. Surely nobody could successfully sue someone for something that happened before they even existed regarding their creation?

If that precedent is set then it could literally change everything because any time someone fell out with their parents or needed money etc they could just sue their parents as they would win every single time. Really stupid.
