Ouch. Note to self: never kick down a randomly placed flag, no matter where you are in the world. I mean, in hindsight, that was the most obvious booby-trapped flag ever. A random flag hidden in tall grass in the middle of nowhere in opposition territory! The guys who planted it were probably watching from some distance with a pair of binoculars and cracking up, thinking “dude, I can’t believe it actually worked!”.
The man, who has since been identified as an off-duty IDF reservist, was treated at the roadside for minor injuries, so he’s had a lucky escape there. Amazingly, he was even able to get back into the car and drive his family home, no doubt feeling like a total idiot though. Lesson learned.
