If you’re unfamiliar with the Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling Race, it’s basically an annual event where a bunch of people run down a hill as fast as they can in pursuit of a roll of cheese and whoever gets to the bottom first gets to take it home as the prize.
It’s perhaps the most simple, yet dangerous version of an extreme sport you can come up with, and every year at least a few people end up completely stacking it and winding up in hospital. This year, the posterboy for that outcome was this lad who went absolutely flying through the air and completely obliterated himself in front of everyone:
NEW: Man goes flying in front of thousands of people at the annual Gloucestershire cheese roll at Cooper’s Hill in the UK.
The tradition involves dozens of individuals who chase after a roll of cheese down the steep 200-yard hill.

Ouch! Brutal stuff. According to the BBC, two people were taken to hospital this year after participating in the Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling Race, and I think it’s a safe bet to say that this lad’s one of them. Literally looked like he was in a car crash that launched him out of the car at 100MPH.
If he manages to survive/regains his ability to walk, I think we need to send this guy to Hollywood to become a stuntman because I’m not sure there’s many people who can take a bump like that and come out of the other side. Doubt we’d even be covering the Gloucester Cheese Race if it wasn’t for his participation. Fair play to you, sir. Speedy recovery!
