The ongoing debate and politicisation surrounding mask wearing is one that I still can’t really get my head around, but it seems like one man has decided to take matters into his own hands and actually create a gun that allows people to shoot masks onto other people’s faces, taking their own decision out of their hands.

His name is Allen Pan and he has a YouTube channel where he highlights his inventions that has over 1.3 million followers. Here’s the video of the mask gun in action on some unsuspecting victims as well as his thoughts on why he decided to make it:
It feels like people just aren’t wearing masks, and they should be.
So what are we gonna do about it? What am I gonna do about it?
American problems demand American solutions.
I’m gonna put together the Second Amendment with healthcare.
That’s right: guns and public safety. Boom! Best of both worlds.
OK so that was just really silly and it doesn’t really seem like anyone would actually be able to use this mask gun effectively for the purpose that it has been designed. However, in terms of raising awareness about how important it is to still be wearing a mask and taking the pandemic seriously, Pan has come up with a fun viral way to highlight this to both his subscribers and the rest of the internet, so for that he should be commended. Wear a mask you numbskull!
