Logan Paul may have been the hero of many young kid for years, but he shot into the wider public consciousness at the beginning of 2018 when he rather unbelievably went to a Japanese suicide forest and filmed himself goofing around beside someone who had hung himself.

Whilst he seems to have dropped off the face of the planet since that moment for anyone over the age of 12 who has a brain, I imagine he’s still pumping out videos and making millions of dollars thanks to all those little kids out there who love watching his zany antics. One of his more recent videos seems a bit more candid than usual, as he explains that he’s just found out that a skull injury that he suffered as a teenager has restricted his ability to empathise with people. Explains a lot I guess.

You can watch the whole video below, but the main gist of it is that he went for a brain scan and the doctor said this to him about it:

You see these holes? It’s not missing but it’s hurt and this is really important because right here is the most human thoughtful part of us. It makes you human.

It’s called the pre-frontal cortex – and you hurt it, which means you’re going to have trouble with focus and forethought, and follow-through and organisation, planning, empathy – so for relationships and learning from the mistakes you make.

We need to fix this. If we don’t fix this, no matter how successful you are, you’re not going to make the decisions you need to move your life in the direction you want.

Living the rest of your life with this brain is not going to be a lot of fun – for you or for the people who love you because you’re going to have trouble connecting.

You’re smart, you’re just not making the kind of decisions that will help you. Our question is… well, can we make it better? Are you permanently messed up or can we make this better?

I think it’s more traumatic brain injury that needs to be rehabilitated – get rid of any high risk behaviour that’s going to put you at risk for another head injury, because this brain is not going to tolerate a lot more brain injury.

I don’t want you hurting your brain, right. So if you fight that guy, you have to win and you have to protect yourself.

I mean I was kinda buying this until that last comment? Why would the doctor say that if he fights KSI he has to win and protect himself? Why not just tell him NOT to fight him so that he can sort out his head first as that’s clearly more important?

Whilst this theory would explain Logan Paul’s suicide forest actions and his whole kind of aloof nature of being a prick etc, we all know that he’s been known to fake his videos in the past so why should this one be any different? Just putting that out there.

For more Logan Paul, here he is nearly dying in a skydiving accident. Holy shit!
