It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything from Lily Allen, but apparently she’s got a new podcast where she goes full TMI with best friend Miquita Oliver, including a recent detailing of her reproductive past.

On a recent episode of the ‘Miss Me?’ podcast, Lily Allen explains how she ‘can’t remember’ how many abortions she’d had, how her uterus was a ‘complete disaster area’, and how she thought it was ‘romantic’ when a man would offer to pay for her abortion.

Allen, 40, said: “Yeah, I’d get pregnant all the time. All the time. Abortions, I’ve had a few. But then again, I can’t remember exactly how many…I think maybe like, I want to say four or five.”

For what it’s worth, her co-host Miquita Oliver added that she’s also had “about five.”

As she recalled one of her experiences, Allen said: “I remember once getting pregnant and the man paying for my abortion, and me thinking it was so romantic.”

Fortunately, she feels differently about it now, especially as the man ghosted her immediately afterwards: “I don’t think it’s generous or romantic. Think about that investment — like that’s, how much is it? 500 quid? Kids are a lot more expensive.”

Allen added: “I just remember I have an IUD [contraceptive coil] now. I think I’m on my third, maybe fourth, and I just remember before that, it was a complete disaster area. Yeah, I’d get pregnant all the time all the time.”

Lily Allen also revealed that she has been around five years sober after dealing with alcohol and drug addiction for many years, so that’s good. Might go some way to explaining all those pregnancies and abortions.

Allen also experienced frustration over being made to feel ‘shame’ about her multiple abortions: “It actually irritates me, and I’ve said it before on the record. I’ve seen memes going around sometimes, on Instagram from pro-abortion accounts or whatever, whenever this conversation comes up, and suddenly you start seeing people posting things about extraordinary reasons for having an abortion.

“Like: ‘My aunt had a kid that had this disability,’ or whatever, ‘if she went full term it was going to kill her.

“Just: ‘I don’t want a f***ing baby right now.’ Literally: ‘Don’t want a baby’ is enough reason.”

Well, fair enough really. She clearly doesn’t feel shame about it anymore because she’s on a podcast telling the world that she can’t even remember how many abortions she’s had.

It’s also worth noting that Lily Allen has two daughters, Ethel, 13, and Marnie, 11, that she shares with ex-husband Sam Cooper, so clearly she doesn’t always abort her babies. Just the ones that she doesn’t feel like giving birth to at that moment in time.

On some level, maybe it’s important that someone like Allen (and Miquita Oliver) shares this info publicly instead of hiding it away in the shadows. I mean, both these girls just admitted to having 5 abortions each! This sort of thing could be a lot more common than most of us think.
