For years, people have dreamed about a form of alcohol that doesn’t give you a hangover and now – out of everyone you could imagine who may have cracked this formula – it’s Lidl who are claiming that they’re no selling a form of Prosecco that doesn’t give you a hangover.

Whilst I’m sceptical that this actually exists, Lidl are pushing out what they’re calling the Organic Prosecco Spumante this Thursday at the price of £7.99 a bottle. A guy called Richard Bampfield is Lidl’s master of wine and explains the following about it:

We’ve all had that shocking wine hangover. This is sometimes attributed to the sulphite preservatives used in wine to keep them fresher for longer.

Generally, organic wine producers use a lower level of sulphites in the production process, which means they are less likely to contribute to hangovers.

So if you don’t react well to sulphites you could be saying good riddance to hangovers with Lidl’s Organic Prosecco Spumante.

The wine doesn’t taste rustic, but actually has bright aromas of pear and white peach.

Well, that isn’t exactly claiming to banish hangovers like they initially claimed, but I suppose it might help and it’s definitely worth a try – you can’t really judge it until you’ve given it a shot, can you? Unfortunately, it’s only a limited edition bottle so you’re probably gonna be pretty hard pushed to get your hands on it, so if you’re interested you had better head down to your local Lidl ASAP and pray they still have some left. Wouldn’t get your hopes up though.

For more Prosecco, check out Aldi who are now offering a three litre bottle. Naughty.
