In what has to be the biggest A-list line-up since Ocean’s Eleven way back in 2001, writer/director/producer Adam McKay (Anchorman, Step Brothers, The Other Guys) has rounded up a serious collection of talent for a new comedy coming to Netflix in 2021 – ‘Don’t Look Up’.

The synopsis, according to Deadline, is as follows:

The film follows two low-level astronomers who embark on a media tour to warn mankind of an approaching asteroid that will destroy Earth.

Sounds hilarious already. Now wait till you get a load of who’s starring:

Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Cate Blanchett, Jonah Hill, Meryl Streep, Himesh Patel, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Kid Cudi, Matthew Perry, Tomer Sisley, Rob Morgan

Holy shit what a cast that is. They’ve pretty much covered all audiences and demographics with that line-up. Think about it. You’ve got one of the best and most famous modern actors in Leo DiCaprio reuniting with BFF Jonah Hill for the first time since ‘Wolf of Wall Street’. Jonah Hill himself is universally beloved and talented and the two of them alone could probably carry this film to greatness and secure the millennial/Gen X viewership.

The we have the legendary Meryl Streep, which means everyone’s mum and nan will be tuning in too. Oppositely you have Ariana Grande, one of the biggest megastars in music right now with a RIDICULOUSLY huge following who are obsessed everything she does. Timothee Chalamet is basically a future Leo in the making that will pull in the young stans too.

And that’s without getting into Matthew Perry, Jennifer Lawrence, Kid Cudi, Cate Blanchett and Himesh Patel who all have their own sizeable fanbases and critically acclaimed performances under their belts already. I mean it’s just serious star power all around.

There’s no other information available on the movie just yet, but if I had to guess, the two scientists (Leo & Jonah Hill) trying to warn the world of the impending asteroid will constantly be told they are wrong despite all their evidence and no doubt hilarity will ensue. Can’t wait to catch this when it drops in 2021.
