Katy Perry Posts Massive Response To How The Internet Has Been Treating Her – Says She Feels Like A ‘Human Piñata’

Katy Perry’s popularity has been rapidly nose-diving over the last year, even before the publicity stunt that saw her sent into space for 11 minutes. Katy Perry thought she was part of a historic, empowering moment for women, but people were actually just annoyed by this multi-millionaire pop star going on an expensive and pointless trip to space and acting like a hero for it, when there’s so much wealth inequality in the world.

Prior to that, Katy Perry put out an album that was not only poorly-received but also included a “feminist anthem” called ‘Woman’s World’… which was produced by a guy who’s infamous for sexually assaulting women. You couldn’t make it up!

Well anyway, after being dragged all over the internet by haters, critics, fellow celebrities, and even Wendy’s,  Katy Perry has now issued an official (and lengthy) response:

“I’m so grateful for you guys. We’re in this beautiful and wild journey together. I can continue to remain true to myself, heart open and honest especially because of our bond. I love you guys and have grown up together with you and am so excited to see you all over the world this year!

“Please know I am ok, I have done a lot work around knowing who I am, what is real and what is important to me. My therapist said something years ago that has been a game changer, ‘no one can make you believe something about yourself that you don’t already believe about yourself’ and if I ever do have any feelings about it then it’s an opportunity to investigate the feeling underneath it.

“When the ‘online’ world tries to make me a human Piñata, I take it with grace and send them love, cause I know so many people are hurting in so many ways and the internet is very much so a dumping ground for unhinged and unhealed. What’s real is seeing your faces every night, singing in unison, reading your notes, feeling your warmth.

“I find people to lock eyes and sing with and I know we are healing each other in a small way when I get to do that co I’m not perfect, and I actually have omitted that word from my vocabulary, I’m on a human journey playing the game of life with an audience of many and sometimes I fall but… I get back up and go on and continue to play the game and somehow through my battered and bruised adventure I keep looking to the light and in that light a new level UNLOCKS.”

Well, she is only human at the end of the day. Good to hear that she’s not too bothered by the backlash online and is instead focusing on the supporters who come to her shows to watch her perform terrible dance routines.

It’s actually shocking that she hasn’t sacked her PR/marketing team yet because they have royally f***ed her over with the last couple things she’s been involved in. Even if Katy Perry thought it was a good idea to have a sexual abuser produce her music or to get sent into space by Jeff Bezos, surely there’s someone on her team who has enough to sense to explain to her why she shouldn’t? What are these people getting paid for anyway?

Onwards and upwards, Katy! Wonder how the guy who got catfished by her all those years ago feels about this?
