We were this close to finally getting the long-awaited Joe Rogan x Kanye West podcast this Friday, but as usual 2020 had to let us down as it’s now been announced the episode has been cancelled.

As you might have guessed, the reason is coronavirus-related. Jamie Vernon AKA Young Jamie, the guy who produces the podcast, tested positive for COVID-19 and so Rogan had no choice but to cancel on all his guests this week.

Here’s Rogan making the announcement on IG earlier:

So I guess we’ll have to wait and hear from Rogan on when the show will be back on Spotify/YouTube. It’s such an absolute bummer though. Of all the weeks Young Jamie could get coronavirus, why did it have to be the week Kanye West finally agreed to go on?

Let’s hope Kanye doesn’t interpret this as a message from the universe that he shouldn’t do the podcast, because there’s no doubt it’s going down in history as the most viewed/downloaded podcast episode in history when he finally does it.

I guess it’s reassuring to know that Kanye didn’t poop his pants and back out of the podcast himself (which is what I thought had happened when I first saw the headline). With any luck, it’ll be rescheduled for later this year.
