Everybody knows that going shopping for furniture completely and utterly sucks. However, IKEA thankfully made it a lot easier with their decision to install absolutely sick restaurants in their huge stores, serving some absolutely killer meatballs and Daim cakes for dessert.

In fact, their food has become so popular that IKEA have realised that they might actually have a future in the restaurant business. Obviously despite how good the food is, nobody is going to travel to IKEA solely for a meal (although apparently 30% of their customer base actually do this – weirdos), so they’ve had to come up with the possibility of opening a real restaurant.

Michael La Cour, Ikea Food’s managing director said the following:

Daim Cake

I firmly believe there is potential. I hope in a few years our customers will be saying, “Ikea is a great place to eat—and, by the way, they also sell some furniture.”

The mere fact that we don’t need so many square feet to do a café or a restaurant makes it interesting by itself.

Yeah, very interesting. In fairness though, if there was an IKEA cafe down my street then I would probably eat there every now and again – it’s cheap and the food’s good so that’s me sold.

Fully backing this idea basically and it’s not even that outrageous – just have to hope that there isn’t any human poo in the Daim cake anymore.
