I’m gonna be honest here and say I don’t know much about dog food, but I suppose whenever I think about it I always thinks of big chunks of Pedigree Chum with gross looking jelly bits dripping off them which is kinda yucky –  although I’m sure everyone’s dogs love them.

With that in mind, it’s kinda surprising that Hug My Dog and co-founder Sara Pearson are the first company in this country to spearhead the idea of healthy, nutritious microwave meals for their little friends. At this point, you can choose from Beef with Sweet Potato, Chicken with Carrots and Pork with Apple with every meal containing prime cuts of British meat with seasonal vegetables and sprinklings of nutritional vitamins and minerals.

They’re also bone-free and don’t include grains, legumes, or fillers and so are comprised just of wholesome and nourishing ingredients. The food is also scientifically proven to have a positive effect on the temperament, day to day health, and quality and longevity of your dog’s life.

What’s not to like about that? I don’t actually have a dog myself, so I sent a sample over to my friend Joe Warner – the owner of Yellow Hat Studios – who came back with the following review of it:

Really easy to use, just like a human microwave meal.

The smell isn’t too bad (kinda like a human microwave meal).

My dog could smell the food and now gets excited when he hears the microwave go bing, which is kinda cute.

He wafted it down.

I asked him to review but he just looked at me.

However, taking my feedback as I do with humans, a clean plate (bowl in his case) is a successful meal.

Sounds pretty good there doesn’t it? Only a matter of time until everyone is feeding their dogs with this stuff.

It’s £4.95 a packet but that gives you two meals a day so it’s hardly that pricey. Check it out.

For more of the same, check out these guys eating a free gourmet meal and then discovering it’s dog food. See how good it can taste!
