These days Keanu Reeves is probably one of the most reecognisable and bankable movie stars of all time and also has a reputation for being a really nice guy on set too, but back in 1984 it appears that he was a young guy fulfilling a sort of roving reporter role for the CBC channel over in Canada.

I have no idea what the show ‘Going Great’ is all about but it seems like some kind of variety show where they send off reporters to investigate wacky stuff that’s going on in the country at the time. Back in 1984, this honour belonged to Keanu Reeves who was dispatched to attend the national teddy bear convention and meet some ‘interesting’ characters.

As you can imagine, the footage is pretty out there:

Lol that’s pretty funny isn’t it and you can see Reeves using his trademark way of talking like a dope to excellent effect in the clip. He’s also comes across as a pretty likeable presence in front of the camera and probably could have continued down this line of work if he hadn’t decided to become one of the most famous and durable actors of all time. Maybe he’ll go back for a laugh one day though? Seems like the kind of thing he might do.
