As English speakers, I’m sure we’ve all wondered what our language sounds like to non-speakers.

It’s pretty tough to know how your native tongue sounds, which is why Brian Fairbairn and Karl Eccleston decided to make the short film ‘Skwerl’ to explain how English sounds.

The script, which you can read HERE, is mostly made up of real English words in an incorrect order, so that you can understand what the different parts of English words sound like when they don’t make any sense.

I don’t know about you, but I felt enthralled by that short story. I’d love to know what they were really chatting about – particularly after she brought out the pineapple with added sparklers. I bet it was juicy.
