This Guy Hasn’t Eaten Since Friday Because They Don’t Serve Organic Food In Prison

There’s no denying that the main guy from the insurrection on Capitol Hill last week was the stupid guy with the furry horned viking hat carrying a spear who described himself as a ‘QAnon Shaman’ – he’s become somewhat of a fashion icon/ultimate Halloween costume over the past week – but it seems like things haven’t been going so well for the man himself since the attempted coup.

Jacob Chansley – also known as Jake Angeli – turned himself into the FBI last week and has been charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, and with violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. He made his first court appearance yesterday and made no comment on his charges, instead speaking politely to the judge and suggesting that he might be able to get a friend to hire a private attorney for him.

However, the public attorney allocated to defend him explained that Chansley hadn’t eaten since he was taken into custody on Friday, allegedly because the facility he’s currently being held in won’t serve him any organic food. Incredibly, the judge said that he found this revelation deeply concerning and advised the public defendant to liaise with the US Marshalls to try and get Angeli some food that would fulfil his dietary concerns.

Wow, not really sure what to say about that. I suppose that vegans/vegetarians are legally required to be served meals that fit their dietary requirements when placed in incarceration, but I’ve never heard of someone refusing to eat food because it’s not organic before. Seems like a totally ridiculous demand to make when you’re in prison and going hungry, but I guess someone that storms the Capital because Donald Trump tells them to do so probably isn’t listening to reason like the rest of us. Kinda like a pathetic attempt at martyrdom.

Let’s see how it turns out for him, although it already seems like he has the judge on his side here as he’s so concerned about his lack of organic produce whilst he’s in jail? I know he’s a judge and he’s supposed to do what’s ‘right’ but does that seem a little concerning to anyone else after Angeli literally stormed the Capitol to try and overturn democracy? Just me?

For more of the same, check out this Proud Boys leader who was arrested after uploading a video of himself smoking in the Capitol Building. What did he think was going to happen?
