Pretty much everyone in the world collectively lost their shit last weekend when Rockstar were hacked and loads of gameplay videos of ‘GTA 6’ finally found their way onto the internet.

Obviously, Rockstar were really pissed off about this as they’ve been keeping it under wraps for quite some time and it turns out that it was a big enough deal to get the police involved. Today they announced that they have the hacker responsible in custody and he’s just some 17 year old geek from Oxfordshire.

UPDATE: Arrest of 17-year-old by police in the United Kingdom over hack of Rockstar and possibly Uber was done in concert with an investigation conducted by the FBI, according to a source with knowledge of the matter.

Hot damn that doesn’t look too hot for the guy, but don’t you think somebody should start some kind of petition or crowdfunder to get him released or something? I’m certain that a very high proportion of the world’s population watched those ‘GTA 6’ videos and absolutely lost their shit over them, so you can argue that this guy was doing a very important public service. Seems a bit much to jail him or similar for this ‘offence’ doesn’t it? Help the poor kid out.
