Just when you think that the height of COVIDiocy has been reached, then something like this comes out and blows everything else out of the water. You literally couldn’t make this one up.

51 year old professor Neil Ferguson has been previously credited with prompting Boris Johnson to impose social distancing restrictions in the UK in March after research from him and his team at Imperial College London showed that over 500,000 people could die if it wasn’t adopted. He was so associated with the idea that he even earned the nickname ‘Professor Lockdown’.

However, unfortunately for him he couldn’t even follow his own guidelines after he allowed his 38 year old lover Antonia Staats to visit him twice since the lockdown began. To make matters even more scandalous, it turns out that Staats is currently living with her husband and children as well and the two were having a full blown quarantine affair, although she’s claiming that she’s in an open marriage.  That’s salacious however you want to look at it.

Ferguson has today admitted that he made an error of judgment and has stepped back from the SAGE (Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies) because of it:

I made an error of judgement and took the wrong course of action in choosing to see Ms Staats amid lockdown.

I acted in the belief that I was immune, having tested positive for coronavirus, and completely isolated myself for almost two weeks after developing symptoms.

I deeply regret any undermining of the clear messages around the continued need for social distancing to control this devastating epidemic.

The government guidance is unequivocal, and is there to protect all of us.

Yeah, really got egg on your face there didn’t you pal? I guess he’s received his just desserts now by being majorly embarrassed in public for his actions and there are probably some people reading this who are kink shaming him as well because of it.

Not sure if he’s the top scientist on this it’s a good idea to remove him from SAGE when everyone was listening to him before, but I suppose that’s just another major screw up in the way that the government has handled this crisis. Oh well.

For more of the same, check out this woman who cut a hole in her face mask so it was easier to breath. Gimme strength.
