Diff’rent Strokes legend Gary Coleman is no longer with us, having died in 2010 at the age of 42 after falling down the stairs at his home and suffering a brain hemorrhage. His death was ruled an accident, but there were plenty of rumours at the time (and ever since) that he was murdered by his wife.

Fast forward to 2025 and Shannon Price is taking a lie detector test on A&E’s “Lie Detector: Truth or Deception”. Here’s how that panned out for her:

Oh dear. Not a great look really, and also a bit of an odd reaction to just sit there as cool as a cucumber after being told you failed. Let’s not forget Shannon Price’s 911 call at the time of the “accident”, which people found a tad bit suspicious:

Now maybe Shannon Price is simply a supremely laid back kind of gal, but if your husband (or anyone for that matter) was bleeding profusely from their skull after falling down the stairs and dying right in front of you, you’d probably be in a bit more of a panic. The worst part though is how she refuses to help her dying husband because she doesn’t like blood! To not even be able to lend a helping hand and do what the operator is telling her before the ambulance gets there? That is as cold as it gets. More than anything, she seems completely annoyed and inconvenienced by the situation.

Now obviously, that doesn’t mean she necessarily had anything to do with him falling down the stairs. She may just genuinely be a cold, heartless person who married Gary Coleman for his money and never really loved him. In fact, the pair had divorced years earlier, even though they still lived together. She probably just didn’t like/care about him that much.

Furthermore, she didn’t accompany him to the hospital on the night that he fell, and immediately had him taken off life support when the option presented itself.

In a documentary about Gary Coleman that came out following his death, Shannon denied being anywhere near him when he fell. Crucially, Gary Coleman had conscious conversations between the time he fell and the brain hemorrhage that killed him in hospital 2 days later, and he never mentioned anything about his ex-wife pushing him down the stairs.

In fact, Shannon Price claims she spoke to Gary on the phone on the night after he fell:

“He’s, like, ‘I have a really bad headache. I think I’m just gonna go to sleep.’ I was, like, ‘I’ll talk to you later. I love you.’ He’s, like, ‘I love you too.’ And that’s the last thing he said to me.”

Hmm, if you say so. In any case, Gary Coleman’s death was ruled accidental and Shannon Price was never formally implicated. A failed lie detector test isn’t going to change that, especially as polygraphs are inadmissible in court over in Utah. Still, it’s interesting that she failed it. Guess we’ll never know for sure…
