I know that there’s a cost of living crisis going on and the price of everything seems to be rising thanks to hyperinflation or whatever, but I still don’t think that anyone should be paying £350 to go to a Harry Styles concert.

No offence to the former member of One Direction of course, but I don’t really think anyone should be paying that amount of money to go and see anyone perform. Come on now.

Sadly though, one stupid fan got a bit too excited when tickets went ons sale and ended up purchasing one of those super expensive ones in a rush to check out on Ticketmaster before the ticket was snapped up by someone else as they only give you a limited time to complete the purchase. They now fear that they won’t be able to afford rent due to its outrageous price.

Here’s what they had to say:

I would not have paid that amount willingly as I can’t afford it.

At this price, I’m now going to struggle with basic things like grocery shopping and covering my rent.

The prices are absolutely not fair in the current cost of living crisis.

Normally I would say that I thought the fan was an idiot for not checking the price of the tickets they had in their basket for the event, but apparently Ticketmaster are now being even bigger assholes than usual and have just brought in a new ‘Dynamic Ticketing’ system. This basically means that prices change subject to demand, meaning that popular artists such as Styles see the price of their concert inflated massively.

Surely that’s just illegal? Why should people be penalised financially because they want to go and see a famous artist? I’m not really sure who that is benefitting other than Ticketmaster which is already an awful company that makes a killing off essentially charging people for a terrible website and service.

It really does sound like a scam. I would be furious if I ended up paying hundreds of pounds more to see my favourite band or whatever just because a load of other people did as well? Really finding it hard to make sense of this, but I’m hoping that fan at least manages to get a refund. Knowing Ticketmaster that will be almost impossible though. Bastards.

For more of the same, check out when this homeless man accused Harry Styles of offering him cash to ‘have fun’ at a hotel. Bit awkward.
