With all the recent publicity over the Amber Heard and Johnny Depp trial, I had completely forgotten that FKA Twigs had accused Shia LaBeouf of somewhat similar behaviour whilst they were in a relationship back in 2018, but it turns out that the pair are heading for a showdown in court too.

Rolling Stone are reporting that the civil case between the two will commence on 17th April 2023. FKA Twigs is accusing LaBeouf of sexual battery, controlling behaviour and physical violence.

She alleges that LaBeouf had a number of strict rules that she couldn’t violate in his presence, including talking or looking at other men and that he also demanded a set number of kisses throughout the day. Twigs also says that he pushed her to the ground outside a hotel in 2019 and this was only one of many violent outbursts that she suffered at his hands.

Here’s what Twigs’ lawyer Bryan Freedman had to say about the trial:

FKA Twigs described what she went through with Shia as the worst thing she had been through in the whole of her life.

The gaslighting has gone on long enough here and it’s time to hold Shia LaBeouf accountable.

My client wants a trial date.

Well, looks like it’s on. What’s strange is that at the time the accusations first surfaced Shia LaBeouf did issue a half hearted apology saying ‘I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I’m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt. There is nothing else I can really say.’, but then later on said that he didn’t inflict any injury or loss on Twigs and she wasn’t entitled to any relief or damages whatsoever. That’s not such a good look really is it?

Basically, this all means that it should be a real doozy when these guys make it into court next year. Looks like these celebrity break up trials might start being a very real, almost constant thing and to be honest I’m not mad about these weirdoes airing their dirty laundry in public because it’s very entertaining. Just kinda sad and horrible that it’s come to this for all of them.
