When it comes to first person shooters, the Far Cry series isn’t perhaps up there with the best of them, but it really does stand out from the crowd thanks to its expansive and exotic open plan locations, which sometimes are as big as 50km squared.

That’s why it seems all the more surprising that the latest episode of the series ‘Far Cry 5’ is ditching all that to be set in Hope County, Montana. Whilst I don’t doubt there are some spectacular mountain ranges there and a bunch of corn fields (actually make that a multitude), it’s a bit of a jump from Africa or Micronesia, isn’t it?

Nevertheless, the teaser trailer is out there and looks suitably spectacular and ominous to get me excited about it. See if you notice the coolest part of this because it’s slightly difficult to spot the first time round:

Did you see the guy getting his head hit on the bell in the church? Very subtle, but it also creates just enough tension around the trailer to stop it just being the equivalent of a show on the Travel Channel. I’m down.

But yeah, the trailer didn’t give too much away, apart from the fact that it’s going to be set in Hope County, Montana and might be kinda creepy. I’m still excited about it however, and it isn’t long until the actual trailer comes out in a couple of days. Far Cry is a good video game series too so I doubt they’re gonna screw it up on this instalment.
