Ed Sheeran Doppelganger Says That Looking Like Ed Sheeran Is Ruining His Life

If there’s one celebrity you wouldn’t want to look like, there’s a fair chance it’s Ed Sheeran.

21-year-old Ty Jones from Sale, Manchester happens to look a lot like Ed Sheeran, and has confirmed that being an Ed Sheeran lookalike isn’t as great as some people might think.

Ty says:

When Ed became really famous I had people always coming up to me and talking to me and wanting my picture – it was crazy.

It’s like I can’t escape it, people go mad when they think they’re meeting Ed Sheeran.

He says the resemblance has practically ruined his life; from jealous girlfriends, to constantly questioning the true intentions of others.

It’s made my relationships worse I’d say because now I have to weigh up if they like me for me or are they’re just interested in me because I’m the next best thing to Ed if they really like him.

When girls ask me for pictures in the streets it’s annoyed some of my girlfriends in the past and caused problems. It’s hard to explain because it’s not like I can help it and I don’t like being horrible to people and deny them a picture if they want one.

People also keep asking him to “mime to Ed’s songs” at parties, which must be pretty damn annoying to be fair.

Honestly, I’m not convinced Ty Jones actually hates looking like Ed Sheeran. Because if he was, he’d at least try to STOP LOOKING LIKE HIM. I mean OK he’s ginger and has similar features so not much he can do about that, but getting the same haircut as him doesn’t exactly help matters does it? I think Ty loves looking like Ed Sheeran but just loves pretending like he doesn’t even more. If I hated looking like Ed Sheeran I would dye my hair or at least shave it or grow a beard out or do something to look less like him anyway. But nope – this guy goes out and gets the exact same haircut as him and then complains about all the attention he’s getting. Not fooling us sonny jim.
