A 69 Year Old Dutch ‘Positivity Trainer’ Wants To Legally Lower His Age To Have A Better Chance On Tinder

There’s no denying that you as you get older a lot of your opportunities dry up and you simply can’t do as much as you could in the past because of your health and countless other reasons, but what if there was a way to reverse that?

Of course, there’s literally no way to reverse the aging process – whoever invents that would be a quadruple billionaire already, but one Dutch ‘positivity trainer’ is trying to legally change his age as he’s arguing that being younger gifts him with more opportunities in terms of dating, driving, employment and buying houses. Here’s what Emile Ratelband had to say about it all:

We live in a time when you can change your name and change your gender. Why can’t I decide my own age?

When I’m 69, I am limited. If I’m 49, then I can buy a new house, drive a different car. I can take up more work.

When I’m on Tinder and it says I’m 69, I don’t get an answer. When I’m 49, with the face I have, I will be in a luxurious position.

My doctors tell me I have the body of a 45 year old. I’m a young god.

I’ve made this decision because I want to make the most of life for as long as possible, not because I fear getting old.

I’m happy to renounce my pension if my birth date is switched.

I mean the guy has kind of got a point although I don’t really think you can compare your age to your gender or name? To be fair though, it is essentially just a social construct so maybe you can and he’s right to be challenging it? Or maybe he’s just a twat who wants more attention? Probably the second option.

Even if Emile wins the case it’s going to be a massive problem for him though because it’s so stupid that it’s received international coverage, so anyone trying to date him/employ him/whatever him will just Google him and find out that he’s not actually 49 but 69. Completely dumb logic from the guy there.

And surely it’s fairly easy to lie about your age? How many people actually care about seeing your passport when you go on a date or buy a house or even get a job?  It’s piss easy to change your age on Tinder too because loads of people have the wrong age on it all the time anyway? All you have to do is change you age on your Facebook profile and hey presto, it’s whatever you just said it was and everyone’s none the wiser.

Emile really should have thought this whole thing through because he could have quite easily achieved what he wanted but instead he’s probably going to lose his legal case and look like a prime bell end in the process. Congratulations pal!
