A major drug ring in Blackpool has been busted thanks (in part) to a parrot named Mango who exposed the operation by repeating the words “two for 25” over and over again in a video on one of the suspect’s phones.

The gang, led by Adam Garnett, who is actually already in prison, was sentenced to over 103 years after Garnett’s girlfriend’s bird made reference to the crack cocaine deal in the clip, while also playing with cash in front of a child.

Obviously, there was some actual evidence somewhere along the line as well, but nowhere near as hilarious. Other incriminating footage on the phone showed Garnett’s girlfriend, Shannon Hilton, making video calls to him from outside — while blocks of cocaine were filmed on-screen with music playing lyrics about drugs. Not exactly subtle.

In another video, her pet parrot Mango is being taught to say “two for 25” while Shannon and others crack up laughing (it would be pretty funny, to be fair).

Footage from other gang members’ phones showed raps about drug money, stashes of heroin and ketamine, and large quantities of cash being flashed, reports Lancs Live. These idiots just can’t help themselves, can they?

The gang operated across Blackpool between February 2023 and July 2024, pushing Class A and B drugs including heroin, crack cocaine, cannabis, and ketamine. In total, 15 people pleaded guilty to drug offences at Preston Crown Court and received sentences totalling more than a century in prison.

Videos and messages from their phones linked almost every one of the group to Garnett, who was running the operation from prison using smuggled phones and WiFi routers.

Garnett and his girlfriend Hilton are top left and bottom right, alongside some of the other crew members:

Members of the gang have been jailed for more than 103 years

And so, it doesn’t actually seem like Mango the parrot saying “two for 25” made a difference to the crew being busted, but it’s still pretty funny that it was part of the evidence. Can just imagine the gang’s faces when Mango was brought in for cross examination in court too. Who’s a snitchy Polly eh?
