He is one of the most love men in Britain due to his fascinating series that have connected the public with the natural world and captured the interest of people from all different backgrounds.

However, Attenborough has revealed that he’s got one major regret with regards to his career, and that is missing out on time with his children.

The Planet Earth presenter has said that his work meant that he was away for months at a time when his two kids, Susan and Robert, were growing up. He told the Radio Times:

If you have a child of six or eight and you miss three months of his or her life, it’s irreplaceable. You miss something.

Perhaps you can’t have your cake and eat it.

Poor old Dave. That is sadly the problem that many career-driven people face, such is the nature of working in that area. He did add that his wife Jane, who died back in 1997, was very understanding. I’m sure she was and I’m sure that his kids understand too. Plus, even though they might’ve missed out on some quality time, at least they can say that David Attenborough is their dad. What a great feeling that must be.
