Pro darts player James Wade was involved in yet another ‘Fartgate‘ incident at the Players Championship 17 this week, unleashing a nasty fart in the middle of a game against Peter Wright in Leicester.

Wade let rip during a 6-5 victory to reach the quarter-finals, but you have to wonder whether the fart was premeditated part of the game plan to throw his opponent off his game.

Proper sh*thousery!

Upon hearing the very clear and obvious flatulance, referee Owen Binks informed the players: “Oh boy, OK then… This is a streamed match guys.”

Wade claimed “It slipped out” and then added: “Give it a second.”

Wright thought it needed more than a second though, and Wade tried to prompt him back onto the oche, saying: “Go ahead. Do you want nine more arrows?”

You can’t really argue with the ‘it slipped out’ defence – even if James Wade is known for doing this before. In fact he did the exact same thing less than a year ago, also during the Players Championship. Seems it’s something of a trademark move at this point? Although at that time, he did try to make out that it was the velcro on his shoes that made the sound, which everyone knows is pure BS.

Listen, at the end of the day, we’ve all been in a situation where you can’t help it and the fart just slips out. If that’s what James Wade insists happened here, then I guess we have to take his word for it. Either way, he got the W and that’s what matters. After all, farting isn’t against the rules, is it?
