All of the strange drama surrounding ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ has hyped up the film like nothing else I can remember in recent memory, all culminating with Harry Styles apparently spitting on Chris Pine at its premiere at the Venice Film Festival on Monday night.

Obviously the moment went massively viral yesterday, so Pine’s rep was forced to put out the following statement explaining what happened:

This is a ridiculous story — a complete fabrication and the result of an odd online illusion that is clearly deceiving and allows for foolish speculation.

Just to be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine.

There is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist.

Eh I dunno – it certainly looks like Styles spat on Pine doesn’t it? I suppose this is generally how issues such as this are dealt with in Hollywood, but if the pair of them really wanted to quash all semblance of a beef it probably would have made more sense for them to record a video together where they’re hugging each other or something, especially considering they were in the same place and it wouldn’t have been that hard to sort out.

Not gonna happen though is it? I wonder why? You do the math.
