Bad translations are always funny, but Southeast Asia in particular seems to throw out some fucking hilarious mishaps. It must be to do with the fact that our languages are so different – you only need to type a sentence into Google translate and see what it comes up with for the Chinese conversion to prove that point.

Coming from someone who’s lived in China, I can quite honestly say at every corner you’ve got a hilarious translation fail, whether it be on a sign or a public safety warning. But one of my favourites was how food and menu items got misinterpreted. I don’t know whether it was because it was relating to something you actually have to consume, but either way it was funny AF.
