If I know anything about America, it’s that a lot of the population think that they’ll be able to solve their problems with a gun and for a lot of people over there it seems like this logic has extended to the Coronavirus situation as well.

Reports are flooding in that people over in America are panic buying guns in the way that they’re panic buying toilet roll over here. Loads of pictures are circulating of people queuing round the block to get into the gun stores with several people commenting that it’s the first time that they’ve ever bought a gun as they worry that the Coronavirus will lead to the collapse of society and a ‘Walking Dead’ kind of situation – only without the zombies.

Here’s what 39 year old John Gore had to say about the situation:

Politicians and anti-gun people have been telling us for the longest time that we don’t need guns.

But right now, a lot of people are truly scared, and they can make that decision themselves.

I need to protect my family.

Hell yeah ‘Merica! Whilst I suppose the worst case scenario does exist and all of society could break down under the strain of the Coronavirus, but even if it does – highly unlikely – I’m not sure if the correct response to that is just to go around shooting everyone. I guess I’m not American though.

In case you’re wondering , gun purchases are at their largest in the states that have been hit the hardest by Coronavirus, so California, New York and Washington. I guess if you were planning a trip and are allowed into the US, maybe avoid those places if you don’t want to get into a firefight. Highly likely you won’t even be able to travel though.

For more of the same, check out Donald Trump trying to buy a vaccine for Coronavirus. Bastard.
