Adele Is Being Accused Of Transphobia Because She Said ‘I Love Being A Woman’ During Brit Awards Speech

So last night Adele won big at the Brit Awards and while acknowledging that the ceremony had gone gender-neutral, asserted that she “loves being a woman and a female artist”. A positive, uplifting and inspiring message for the millions of young girls watching? Nope – proof that Adele is a TERF (trans-exclusionary radical feminist), apparently…

Welp, looks like all a woman has to do to be called transphobic is to acknowledge her own sex. I mean I just can’t wrap my head around how anyone can have a problem with this. Aren’t we supposed to respect people’s identities, including women’s? Not to mention it’s always a big deal for women to win awards over men, so why shouldn’t Adele be proud of that?

Also let’s be honest; if a trans woman got up on stage and said “I’m proud to be a woman”, this same lot would be celebrating like there’s no tomorrow! So why can’t Adele say the same thing after all she’s accomplished in the music industry? Just think you’d have to be unbelievably insecure and/or paranoid to have a problem with it. F*** the haters. Go Adele Go!
