A video taken during Adele’s concert in Verona, Italy last Sunday shows the moment Adele stopped singing to have a go at a fan filming her in the audience.

Adele makes it clear she prefers concert-goers to look at her with their own eyes instead of through a camera lens.

I guess you can see Adele’s side of it. She’s up there on stage belting out her tunes and all this person can think about is how their video will look on Instagram and how many Likes they’ll get for it. Back in the day you’d get people taking a few shitty photos at concerts and that was it – now in the age of social media everyone just wants to have their phones out all the time which undoubtedly ruins the experience for them and others.
At the same time though, this fan paid for their ticket so they should be able to film the show if that’s what they want to do. They’ll be able to re-watch the entire concert again (plus Adele yelling at them) years from now.
Overall I’m on Adele’s side though, because I think everyone would enjoy concerts more if they just put their phones away and lived in the moment. Even this guy who was spotted casually reading a book at the Beyonce concert.
