£120,000 Range Rover Submerged By Rising Tide After Owner Gets Luxury SUV Stuck Trying To Tow Friend’s Van
Absolute nightmare over in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, as a £120,000 Range Rover was completely swallowed by the tide after the driver got stuck in the sand while trying to tow a friend’s Ford Transit van (which was carrying jet skis).
I mean, this was never going to be a good idea, was it….?

Oof. In the end, both the Range Rover and the van were left entirely underwater at South Bay Beach, with rescue workers and diggers eventually hauling both vehicles out.
Unfortunately, the damage to both vehicles has likely rendered them both irreparable, and insurance will almost certainly be voided for unauthorised driving on the beach.
It’s actually worse than a total loss because not only do you lose the total value of the car, you’re also financially responsible for the removal and cleanup of the cars. Brutal.
It’s hard to know who’s thicker really – the first driver who thought it would be a good idea to drive onto the beach, or the second driver who did the exact same thing in order to rescue the first idiot. Expensive lesson learned for both, I think.
