Bondi Beach Hero Ahmed Al Ahmed Charged With Domestic Assault And Stalking

Well, this is awkward. Ahmed Al Ahmed, who became a national hero during the December 2025 Bondi Beach terror attack, has been charged by New South Wales Police with domestic violence-related common assault and stalking.

Investigators allege that in March this year, Al Ahmed assaulted his elderly father by putting him in a headlock during a dispute at a home in Bankstown, Sydney.

As per ABC, he is now scheduled to face the Bankstown Local Court on July 29, 2026.

Police have also secured an Apprehended Violence Order on his dad’s behalf, which prohibits Al Ahmed from contacting his father, and requires him to stay at least 100 meters away from his dad’s home and workplace.

When questioned by reporters from ABC News, Al Ahmed denied the allegations, stating: “It’s fake information… it’s not true at all”.

Apparently there’s been a bit of a family feud with the Al Ahmeds tied to the millions of dollars he received in the wake of his heroics in the Bondi Beach tragedy.

Following that day – where Ahmed was shot multiple times while disarming a terrorist – a global fundraising campaign raised over $2.6 million AUD to assist with his medical recovery and surgeries.

Just weeks prior to Al Ahmed being charged, his two brothers, Hozifa and Sameh Al Ahmed, were arrested and charged with using a carriage service to menace, harass, or offend.

Police allege the brothers placed threatening phone calls to Al Ahmed, attempting to extort $100,000 each ($200,000 total) from his donation money. One brother allegedly threatened to break his other arm and smash his face. The brothers have pleaded not guilty and are also out on conditional bail.

Wild stuff. Is it really that surprising that Ahmed lost the plot a little bit, though? Aside from what he went through on Bondi Beach and the stress of the mental and physical recovery that followed, he’s also got his brothers threatening to kick the sh1t out of him if he doesn’t give them $100,000 each.

If his family had just left him alone, I doubt he’d have been in a position where he’s putting his own dad in a headlock.

Seems like the money has really fvcked the family up, although it sounds like they probably had a complex relationship to begin with. Here’s hoping they sort it all out.
