Gay Dad Defends Video That Showed Him ‘Mocking’ His Surrogate Baby Asking For ‘Mama’
A gay dad in the U.S. has caused a bit of outrage after sharing a video where he “mocks” his 5-month-old surrogate son for asking for “mama”.
In the clip, Shane McAnally (lol) tells his crying baby: “Who do you want dada or pop? There is no mama. You have dadda and poppa. Two choices.”
Gay man with a husband posts video of his baby asking for "Mama" before 'laughing' in the comment section about the idea of throwing "it away" and starting over.

Now, in fairness to Shane McAnally, I’m not sure that the babbling baby is actually begging for its mother (after all, he’s got two gay dads). It’s probably just normal baby babble that’s a part of normal language development.
Still, not the brightest idea in the world to film yourself laughing in the baby’s face about having two gay dads and then putting the clip online. Is this Shane McAnally’s first day on the internet or what?
51-year-old Shane McAnally has now defended the clip, telling MailOnline that he and his husband find the video “hilarious.”
He says: “We found it hilarious. He’s five months old, he obviously doesn’t understand English.”
“I was appalled by what some people have been saying. Some people have taken it out of context.
“Babies usually say dada first, but people wouldn’t then say the babies are only wanting their dads? It doesn’t really make sense.”
Listen, it’s a sensitive topic. Many people believe having two gay dads will “confuse” and “f*** up” a child and that it’s reflective of a “sick” society and whatnot. Who knows, though? What if this lad ends up having a great childhood and grows up to be a happy and high-functioning adult with two gay dads?
I guess time will tell…
