A 911 operator over in the U.S. is in deep shit after being accused of intentionally hanging up on callers during emergencies because she “wasn’t in the mood” to help.

Crenshanda Williams had been answering emergency calls with the Houston Emergency Centre since 2014. However, her supervisors began to notice that her log history revealed an abnormally high amount of short calls, many of which lasted 20 seconds or less.

After launching an investigation into the matter, they discovered that thousands of pressing calls had been disconnected by Williams during her time working at the Centre. At least one of the calls was for robbery and homicide, while two were to do with speeding vehicles. During one specific call made on March 12th 2016, Williams picked up the phone and asked:

Houston 911, do you need medial, police or fire?

To which the caller responded:

This is a robbery.

However, rather than directing the call to the police, she simply sighed before hanging up on them. Pretty shocking behaviour. After the investigators tracked down the caller, they confirmed that he had been hung up on and had to call in a second time.

In another call, Williams put the phone down on a woman who didn’t even have time to announce her emergency. In the recording, the audio revealed Williams saying:

Ain’t nobody got time for this. For real.

This woman has got a seriously bad work ethic. Williams has since been arrested and charges were filed against her, where she was handed a fine as punishment for her actions. When asked for a reason why she had disconnected the calls, Williams simply answered:

I did not want to talk to anyone at that time.

That’s besides the point mate – maybe don’t choose a career where it’s your job to speak to people? What a nutter.

For more crappy operators, check out this one who missed an emergency call because she was ordering pizza for lunch.
