Just when you thought United Airlines’ week couldn’t get any worse, they’ve been hit with another viral story from another disgruntled customer. And this one involves SCORPIONS.

A Canadian man this week claims that a scorpion dropped on his head and stung him… in Business Class no less!

Richard Bell says:

While I was eating, something fell in my hair from the overhead above me.

I picked it up, and it was a scorpion. And I was holding it out by the tail, so it couldn’t really sting me then.

A fellow passenger on the Sunday flight from Houston to Calgary warned him that the eight-legged creature – honey-coloured and about an inch and a half long – was a scorpion and could be dangerous.

So I dropped it on my plate and then I went to pick it up again, and that’s when it stung me. It got my nail, mostly.

Richard has no plans to sue the airline, but hoped they would offer him a travel credit or some sort of compensation:

It’s just one of those things that happens, right?

Erm… no mate. Pretty sure a scorpion falling on your head while you’re chilling on an air plane is not “just one of those things that happens”.

Luckily for United, no one filmed this particular incident, and what’s more – the evidence was destroyed before they had a chance to investigate. Via The Guardian:

As the flight sat on the tarmac, customs officials also came onboard, hoping to get a glimpse of the scorpion, but at that point it had already been flushed down the toilet.

Scorpion? What scorpion? That was just a harmless spider we flushed down the toilet. Nothing to see here!
