Tourist In Italy Tracks Down Girl Who Pick-Pocketed Her And Holds Her By The Ponytail For An Hour Until Police Arrive
An American woman on holiday in Venice, Italy, tracked down a teenager who had pick-pocketed her purse and held her BY HER PONYTAIL FOR AN HOUR until the police arrived.
The mum of eight was able to track down her stolen purse by using “Find My Friends” on her AirPods, which were inside it, according to her daughter, Karis McElroy, who shared footage of the confrontation on TikTok:

That is some serious grip strength right there. The funny part is that while all that was going on, at least 5 people watching the scene will have had their wallets lifted also. Pick-pocketing is a serious problem out there in Italy, so fair play to this American lady for taking matters into her own hands and doing something about it.
Apparently the woman was on a narrow bridge in the city when she and her family were crowded by a group of girls, and before she knew it her backpack had been unzipped and her purse containing her credit cards, cash and passport was missing.
The woman’s daughter, Karis, explained: “Her and my stepdad immediately started tracking her purse through her AirPods on Find My Friends, and they were able to track it down back to those three girls.
“So she goes and chases them down, and she grabs one of the girls by her ponytail and does not let go. Two of the girls stay, one of the girls runs away with my mom’s purse.”
In the end, the lady got her purse and passport back. All’s well that ends well. Now she can go back to enjoying the rest of her holiday with her eight kids, who are no doubt extremely well-behaved. Not a mama you want to mess with.
