A Georgia couple is going viral for producing one of the most nonchalant proposal videos in recorded human history.

Usually these sorts of clips go viral because the woman is either ridiculously happy and excited and emotional, or because she’s said no and it’s completely humiliating for the guy. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a proposal video like this one though:

After the video went viral, the couple, Peyton and Faith, spoke to People about how it wasn’t as lame as it looked:

“We’re both good,” Faith told the outlet. “It blew our minds.”

“He jumps up behind me and grabs my side all the time. So I didn’t know he was trying to get my attention. I was talking to his aunt about pickleball — we were gonna play the next day,” she explained.

She also added the video cut off before everything really began to celebrate and look happy about the engagement.

“The video was just cut off early,” Faith said. “I was definitely smiling. We hugged. We kissed. We took pictures. It was exciting. I definitely wasn’t swatting his hand away,” she explained. “It was not as bad as it looked. I just hold his hand when he does that because I don’t think anything of it.”

Ah OK, fair enough. There was loads of excitement and celebration, just not during the proposal itself. Fair play to them for taking it all on the chin. No doubt they’ll live a happily ever 2-5 years at least. Congrats to the happy couple!
