Manchester City bought the Norwegian player for a massive £51 million, but judging by the past season,  the investment was worth it. Manchester City won the English Premier League last season. They ended on 89 points, five points ahead of Arsenal.

Haaland has an impeccable conversion record. In his time at Dortmund, he scored 29 goals in 30 games. Erling Haaland contributed 36 goals to City’s winning 94 goals in the Premier League. According to English Premier League info, he holds the record for a number of goals scored in the EPL. Overall, for the previous season, he accumulated 52 goals.

What Makes Haaland So Incredible?

Erling has been playing football since he was five years old. He started his career at 15 at Bryne F.K. and has been unstoppable since. He moved through Molde, Borussia Dortmund and finally to Manchester City, where he made the world sit up and listen.

Standing at 1.94m, he towers over most players; he has learned to use his height to his advantage. Where his size could make him gangly and uncoordinated, he uses his frame to hold up play and command presence.

He is swift, which is always surprising to see from someone with so much strength and power. He’s very single-minded in his approach; getting the ball and scoring is what he strives for. Scoring nine goals in one match requires incredible timing; this is what he did during the final game of the U20 World Cup. Sure, they were playing against Honduras, who aren’t known for their exceptional football skills.

He always seems aware of his surroundings without showing this in his movements, he would sometimes be seen near the defence line, almost aimlessly, but he is calculating possibilities. He can move from a jog or walk to sprinting to an optimal position almost instantaneously.

Some people compare him to a robot because he always seems to know where he needs to be. He has mastered the skill of turning potential energy into kinetic energy. He perfectly combines mental strength, physical power, speed and timing.
