The first week of the Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs sex trafficking and racketerring trial is in the books, with the rap mogul’s ex-girlfriend Cassie acting as the government’s star witness and exposing what she saw as his girlfriend between 2007  – 2018.

Cassie went up to the stand, 9 months pregnant and visibly trembling, and explained how for 10 years, she lived in a drugged-out, sex-crazed nightmare of Diddy’s doing. 

It turns out Diddy wasn’t just an abusive and controlling partner, he was (allegedly) organising full-on, drug-fuelled orgies with an unlimited budget, secret cameras, and stupendous amounts of baby oil.

Cassie said she was introduced to “freak offs” within 6 months of becoming Diddy’s girlfriend, at just 22 years old. Cassie told the court countless stories about Diddy; about how he’d watch and masturbate while making her have sex with escorts, dancers and strangers he would fly in. One of these strangers was nicknamed “the Punisher”, and was Diddy’s favourite.

Diddy threatened Cassie several times that he would release footage of her in the freak offs, and she was worried it would ruin her career and lived in constant fear that he would release them. 

Diddy signed Cassie to Bad Boy Records in 2006 after hearing her hit single “Me & U”, and promised to make her a superstar and produce 10 albums for her. After one album, she basically disappeared from the scene and spent the next 10 years being Diddy’s sex slave. 

At one point, Cassie testified that she felt like she was “basically a sex worker” and cried out that she’d give back every cent of her $20 million settlement if it meant never having to experience a freak off again. 

You might be rolling your eyes at that, but apparently her testimony was so powerful that everyone in the court room started tearing up. 

Aside from the sexual degradation, there’s also all the drugs that were flying around. Cassie testified that Diddy used and pushed cocaine, opiates, GHB, ketamine, MDMA, basically every drug under the sun, for the 10 years they dated. During freak offs, he would drug her so she could “dissociate” from the experience.

She said she and Diddy referred to themselves as the “get high partners”, which sounds like a healthy nickname for any couple. One time in 2012, Diddy overdosed so badly on painkillers that Cassie had to rush him to hospital.

The court was also presented with the infamous 2016 CCTV footage of Diddy beating up Cassie in a hotel corridor. According to Cassie, this was just a fraction of the violence she endured that night.. She detailed how he kicked her, dragged her around by her hair, and then had sex with her like nothing happened.

By 2018, Cassie was desperate to end their relationship. After a dinner where she believed they would discuss the issue, Diddy forced himself into her home and raped her. 

Cassie also testified how back in 2011, she and Diddy were “on a break”. Cassie secretly began dating Kid Cudi, only for Diddy to find out after he discovered e-mails between Cassie and her assistant asking for her toiletries to be sent to Cudi’s house.

Being the jealous lunatic that he is, Diddy reacted to this news by attacking Cassie with a wine opener and then fly-kicking her in the back as she tried to get away from him.

She fled to a hotel room that had been used for a freak off the previous night, only to find it completely destroyed with furniture flipped over and p1ss and sh1t everywhere.

After that, Diddy told Cassie he was going to “blow up Cudi’s car”, and sure enough, Cudi’s Porsche exploded in 2012. 

Naturally, Diddy’s team tried to make Cassie look like a jealous, manipulative, gold-digging ex during cross-examination. They showed friendly texts between her and Diddy post-breakup and tried to argue it was a “twisted love story between two consenting adults.” They brought up her relationships with Kid Cudi, Michael B Jordan and an ‘unnamed NFL player’. 

Danity Kane singer Dawn Richards also took to the stand to testify that one morning, she witnessed Diddy fly into a rage over Cassie messing up his eggs for breakfast, and throwing an iron skillet at her. He missed, and then allegedly grabbed her by the hair and dragged her upstairs.

Richards then heard glass shattering from upstairs and ran up to see Cassie curled up in the fetal position. When she confronted Diddy about it, he told her: “That’s passion.”

After a week of having to re-live her experience sand tell the world about it, Cassie stepped out of that court room and asked for privacy so that she can go off and give birth in peace (remember, she’s 9 months pregnant). 

Once Cassie was off the stand, her lawyer read out this statement from her husband Alex Fine (via CNN):

“Over the past five days, the world has gotten to witness the strength and bravery of my wife, freeing herself of her past.” Fine’s statement said. He shared that he feels “tremendous pride and overwhelming love for Cass” and also “profound anger that she has been subjected to sitting in front of a person who tried to break her. So, to him and all of those who helped him along the way, please know this: You did not. You did not break her spirit nor her smile that lights up every room. You did not break the souls of a mother who gives the best hugs and plays the silliest games with our little girls. You did not break the woman who has made me a better man.”

“I did not save Cassie, as some have said,” Fine continued. “To say that is an insult to the years of painful work my wife has done to save herself. Cassie saved Cassie. She alone broke free from abuse, coercion, violence, and threats. She did the work of fighting the demons that only a demon himself could have done to her. All I have done is love her as she has loved me. Her life is now surrounded by love, laughter, and our family.”

Experts expect this trial to last for 8 weeks, and it would be shocking if it ends with anything other than Diddy receiving a substantial prison sentence. And then maybe getting Epstein’d soon after? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Either way, big respect to Cassie for pocketing $20 million from Diddy to keep quiet about all this, and then nailing him in court anyway when the government came for him. That’s got to feel good.
