It’s been a long long time since I’ve had a Freddo but I would have been surprised if they were still only 10p to pick up like they were back in the day when I was scoffing them from the newsagents on the way home from school, but it turns out Tesco are putting them back to their original price.

Freddos apparently remained only 10p up until the year 2005 and since then the price has steadily started rising to the point where you can find them for as much as 30p at some places right now. That just seems wrong to me – that’s like a 200% increase in price for the exact same product. No way inflation is that high.

Anyway, the good guys over at Tesco have decided to roll back the price to just 10p for all this week. Not really sure what the occasion is – maybe because it’s Blue Monday this week, officially the most depressing day of the year today? – but we’re not complaining. Kinda trash that the offer is only going to be available until Sunday, but I guess beggars can’t be choosers and we might as well try and take full advantage of it. Freddos are back baby.

For more Blue Monday offers, check out McDonald’s giving away cheeseburgers for free this week too. Excellent.
