I can’t really remember the last time that we heard from Salt Bae, but he definitely isn’t cropping up as much as he used to when he first blew up on the meme scene a few years ago.

He’s obviously still desperate to remain relevant though and thought that the best way to do this was to post up a super expensive bill from his restaurant on his Instagram account. The eatery is located in Abu Dhabi so the price is 615,065 United Arab Emirates Dirhams, but when you exchange that into pounds it’s a whopping £141,000. Yikes.

OK so the eagle eyed amongst you will notice that the bill was made so expensive by the fact that there were five bottles of Pétrus wine that cost 325,000 United Arab Emirates Dirhams – that’s  £74,570 – and two bottles of 2009 Louis XIII Pétrus that set the restaurant goers back £45,901. That’s the vast majority of the bill (£120,000) so the food was probably only around £20,000 which is pretty expensive sure, but it’s not £140,000 expensive is it?

So basically it’s not as outrageous as you first thought when you consider how pricey the wine was, but it still isn’t anywhere I’m ever going to dine. How can you honestly look at yourself after dropping that much on a meal? Seriously.

And why does Salt Bae think that posting that kind of stuff on the internet is going to endear people to him? Just makes him look like a Grade A twat really doesn’t it?

For more of the same, check out when Salt Bae’s restaurant was ranked as one of the worse places to eat in the city. Whoops.
