Prince William has been asked about Harry & Meghan’s interview with Oprah for the first time since it aired last Sunday, saying that while he hasn’t spoken to his little bro yet, he intends to.

He also asserts that the Royals are “very much not a racist family”:

Might there be a big brother beatdown in Harry’s future? While you’d hope William takes the allegations of racism and mental health issues Meghan says she endured seriously, you can’t think he’s too happy about the fact Harry & Meghan went so public with it and created such an enormous backlash against the monarchy.

During the interview, Harry had said this about William:

You know, as I’ve said before, I love William to bits. He’s my brother. We’ve been through hell together. I mean, we have a shared experience. But, you know, we’re on different paths.

God I would love to be a fly on the wall during the next conversation between William and Harry. Fair play to William for responding to that journalist’s questions. Must feel pretty odd having to describe yourself as not being racist after being accused of it (more or less) by your own brother. Never nice to drift apart from a sibling you were once so close with either so let’s hope the brothers can make peace sooner rather than later, and that the situation only improves from here.
