Dana White’s Power Slap League has been growing in popularity since its TV debut over in the states a couple of weeks ago – mainly thanks to loads of the clips going viral on TikTok, although the TV ratings have been steadily climbing over that period too.

One of the main breakout stars so far is a guy named Ayjay Hintz, who people really took a shine to when he managed to defeat Slap Fighting legend (yes, there is such a term) Frank “The Tank” Holland in episode two. You can see highlights of that below, as well as an interview with Hintz where he explains what it’s really like to get hit in the face repeatedly during a match:

The impact is a lot harder than I thought it would be. For one, I didn’t really put any respect on these slaps, like, when I originally seen it, like, pop up on social media. But then I started, like, looking into it…and then I got out here and took a couple. I was like, oh, okay, well, sh-t.

Normally I would just chill before a match like smoke and listen to some music and just get in the right mindset., but being in the house, we didn’t have phones or radio or anything, so it was a lot of just chilling and just waiting to go out there. So I just hang out, hang out, chill, go out there, do the thing when it’s time.

People who have a problem with it just need to sit down, calm the f-ck down. You know what I mean? Literally, everyone is doing it. Nobody was tricked into doing it, you know what I’m saying? Everyone there, aside from me maybe has a history in combat sports. So it’s not like anybody there has not been hit in the head before. Everybody knows what a concussion is, you know what I mean? We got a team of the best doctors and sports medical staff we could have, so there’s really nothing to worry about, in my opinion.

Intriguing words from a viral internet legend. I’m not sure if Power Slap is shown in the UK yet but it’s fairly easy to follow on TikTok and seems to be blowing up so it probably won’t be too long until they get a deal soon. How many times can you watch someone get slapped in the face before it gets boring?

For more of the same, check out this brutal somersault KO from the first week of Power Slap. Never seen anything like it, seriously.
