Untouched Paris Apartment Discovered After 70 Years, Includes $3.4 Million Painting

Ever dream of finding buried treasure? Or sneaking into someone’s house while they’re away? This is both of those dreams rolled into one!

In what can only be described as an extremely stereotypical move, some French socialite ran away from World War II to the south of France leaving a lot of her bits and bobs behind in an old flat. That was in 1942 and now – 70 years on – that flat has been discovered untouched and containing a whole bunch of cool and expensive looking antiques.

These include a painting worth $3.4 million. Unfortunately, I don’t think her pet ostrich made it, but it did die looking fabulous.
