It’s crazy to think that Nicolas Cage was once an A List Oscar winning actor as these days he just seems to star in the dumbest looking B movies he can find and once again he’s embarking on another really weird project, as he’s signed up to be the host of a new Netflix show entitled ‘The History Of Swear Words’.

Each 20 minute episode will see host Nicolas Cage talk to historians, entertainers and experts in etymology and pop culture about the origins, pop culture usage, science and cultural impact of swear words, such as ‘fuck,’ ‘shit,’ ‘bitch,’ ‘dick,’ ‘pussy’ and ‘damn’. Sounds like one for each episode, which is pretty much perfect for that slot when you want something dumb just before you go to bed.

Check out the trailer below, as well as the list of guest stars that are going to show up:

Guest stars on “History of Swear Words” will include comedians like Joel Kim Booster, DeRay Davis, Open Mike Eagle, Nikki Glaser, Patti Harrison, London Hughes, Jim Jefferies, Zainab Johnson, Nick Offerman, Sarah Silverman, Baron Vaughn, and Isiah Whitlock Jr.

Well, this is only gonna go one of two ways because it’s either going to be very, very funny or very, very bad but still watchable. I’m gonna go with the latter because I remember shows like this with talking heads telling really unfunny jokes about pop culture and I can’t see them speaking about swear words being anywhere near funny enough to carry off a whole series of shows. Probably still going to tune in obviously because it’s Nicolas Cage.

For more of the same, check out some of the weird movies that Nicolas Cage has been appearing in recently. Guy has really lost the plot.
