I think everyone has had a few nights out when they’ve been so out of it that they haven’t remembered a few details of what happened, but the guy in this story has really taken that to the extreme.

A 30 year old Brit who is desperate to remain anonymous was visiting Thailand for a wedding that also coincided with his birthday. He decided to kick it off celebration on October 27th with a beer and marijuana session, but then nobody saw him again until October 29th when he was spotted on Koh Samui beach, dancing around naked and singing football songs.

The locals were aghast when he then decided to get into the sea and swim away, but he was fortunately rescued by a local fisherman and then greeted by the police on the beach. He was taken to a local police station for a drug test, which miraculously came back negative aside from marijuana – which is legal in Thailand – and alcohol.

The man was fined for public indecency and presumably went to sleep it off before attending the wedding. Here’s what the fisherman who found the naked man said about the situation:

I saw the tourist in the sea struggling to stay afloat so I was worried he could drown. I tried to help him into my boat but he was aggressive.

I don’t want him to be punished. I’m relieved that he is safe now. Maybe he had too much to drink and the weather was too hot for him, so he behaved a bit crazy, but I think he is a good person.

Wow. What a great bunch of people they seem like over in Thailand. This guy seems like an absolute nightmare when the fisherman was just trying to help him out and the fisherman still hoped that he was safe and didn’t want to punish him or anything. I wouldn’t have a good word to say about the guy if I was in the fisherman’s shoes, although maybe I would be able to laugh it off? Seems stressful when there’s a very real possibility of drowning too.

Other than that regrettable part of the story, the guy seems like an absolute legend. Not sure why he’s trying to remain anonymous because I’m sure there’s a lot of people out there who would love to party with him after hearing that story. Wonder what he got up to in those two days hey? Crazy man.
