We’ve all been in this position: you’re sat in front of the TV with Netflix open, paralyzed by its endless options. And once decision fatigue sets in, you either give up and end up scrolling on social media or go back to a comforting rewatch of The Office for the billionth time.

But if you can’t pick from its vast selection yourself, we’re happy to help you out! And to make it even easier on you, we’ve tailored our suggestions according to the most beloved hobbies.

For Gamers

If you’re a gamer, Netflix offers countless options that will definitely match your interests. Whether you’re a fan of MOBAs, RPGs, or more casual table games, we’ve got you covered.

MOBA Fans

If you love playing MOBA games like League of Legends (LoL), then look no further than Arcane. This is a visually stunning animated show set in the same universe, covering the origin story of two of its champions, sisters Vi and Jinx.

Here, they find themselves tangled in the rising conflict between Piltover and Zaun. As it stands, the show spans two seasons, but the showrunner has hinted at expanding further into the cinematic universe. So, the next time you’re itching to dive into the LoL world, you can now also do so on TV.

Tabletop Gamers

For a bit of a palate cleanser, we have How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM), a hilarious TV show with a surprising dose of gaming flair. Watch the story of Ted Mosby in search of his one true love unfold, while also enjoying the fun adventures he gets into with his group of friends: Robin, Lily, Marshall, and Barney. Here, you’ll especially relate to the last two characters, as they’re both avid fans of table games.

Though this show doesn’t revolve entirely around a game, some of its most iconic scenes are set in a casino or while playing table games. Namely, there’s The Bro Mitzvah, where Barney takes a trip to the casino to salvage his seemingly disastrous bachelor party, and Game Night, where Marshall creates his own board game by taking various elements of existing games.

As such, HIMYM is the perfect show if you’re someone who’d rather spend time playing a few sessions of a blackjack game like European Blackjack. As it’s a lighthearted comedy show, it will also work great as a background option for when you’re playing said blackjack game; you can have your focus on what you’re doing and the cards that are coming up without having to sit in dead silence. The gentle comedy makes an ideal backdrop for this highly popular game, and if you’re not somebody who likes to sit still and watch shows without anything else to occupy you, the combination of these two activities is ideal.

Plus, we think playing a quick round of blackjack during those special gaming episodes could bump up the immersivity; it’s not just the characters who are testing their skill, but you right alongside them. If you want to take this even further, consider trying live blackjack, where you play against a human dealer streamed via live and audio feeds. Ultimately, this is truly a legendary option for anyone ready to commit to nine seasons of laughter.

RPG Fanatics

Those who prefer playing single-player RPGs won’t be disappointed by The Witcher – at least not for the first two seasons. This is a great adaptation of the game and book series of the same name, where you’ll be transported back to the brutal fantasy world of the Continent.

Follow the tale of Geralt of Rivia, a monster-hunter whose destiny is tied to a powerful sorceress, Yennefer of Vengerberg, and a princess with world-changing hidden powers, Ciri. With a multiple POV format, you’ll get plenty of screen time for all of your favorite characters. And diving into the series now could work as a great precursor to the upcoming The Witcher IV game.

For Lovers Of Musicals

If you’re a theatre kid at heart with a passion for musicals, you’ll adore Victorious. The series follows Tori, played by Victoria Justice, whose big break comes when she’s forced to take her older sister’s spot during a big showcase.

This lands her a spot at Hollywood Arts, an elite performing arts high school. Of course, this transition doesn’t go smoothly, but she more than makes up for it with her amazing voice.

Featuring a young ensemble cast, every episode will take you on a wild ride of laughter and artistic talent. And if you’re a fan of Ariana Grande, then you’re in luck as she’s one of the main characters.

As you probably already know, she has recently starred in Wicked alongside Cynthia Erivo, a movie based on the musical of the same name. So, this will make for a great watch if you want to see how much she’s grown as an artist.

Book Aficionados

We couldn’t leave the book lovers out of our list, and for this one, we have one of the most-watched shows on Netflix – Bridgerton. Based on the novel series of the same name, this is an alternate-history Regency drama with plenty of romance that will surely leave you flustered.

Every season focuses on a different Bridgerton sibling and their story as they find their perfect spouse through imperfect situations. Currently, three seasons have been released, but the showrunners have promised that there’s plenty more to come.

And if you’re hungry for more, you can check out the spin-off series, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. This is a sort of prequel to the main series, following how young Charlotte became the queen of England.

Conclusion

From gamers to book lovers, Netflix’s library has something for everyone. So, rather than wasting your time scrolling away, why not check out one of our curated options based on your hobbies? We’re sure that they’ll leave you more than satisfied.
