Manchester United crashed out of the Champion’s League again last night after at the hands of Atletico Madrid, meaning that their last chance of silverware this year went out of the window, just like it has done the previous five seasons.

Manchester United fans were obviously not happy at the way their team couldn’t overcome Atletico Madrid and for some reason decided to turn their ire to the out of sorts Marcus Rashford, who came on for the final half hour of the game and failed to make a difference. Kinda crazy considering everyone was buzzing over what a great guy Rashford was last year after he stood up to the government over free school meals, but I guess football can be a fickle game.

Anyway, some footage was posted on the internet today of Rashford losing his rag on his way to the team bus and looking like he gave a supporter the middle finger and threatened to punch him. Rashford was quick to post his side of the story, apologising for his frustrations but insisting he wasn’t swearing at the supporter. Here’s the clip and his apology:

I gotta admit that it does kinda look like he gave them the middle finger in that video, but it is kinda far away so I would probably give Rashford the benefit of the doubt in that situation. Don’t really think you can blame him even he did though – his team that he actually supports has crashed out of the Champ’s League again, he was crap and everyone is having a go at him for being crap and has been for quite a while – and you can kinda sense the frustration in his message.

Yes, footballers get paid a lot of money and should be able to handle criticism from the fans etc but you can’t really blame them for getting a bit upset every now and again. Especially Marcus Rashford who actually seems like a decent guy as opposed to half of the pricks out there. Give the guy a break for once, geez. It’s not like he’s trying to be shit at football and lose all the time is it?

*Also love that the guy complaining is Irish or something? Can’t quite make out the accent but he’s definitely not from Manchester. Fucking glory supporters.

For more of the same, here’s the latest on Kurt Zouma kicking his cat. The RSPCA are involved.
