If you had a man dressed up as an old woman in a wheelchair smearing cake all over the Mona Lisa on your 2022 bingo card then it looks like you’re in with a winner.

For some reason this was the situation that went down yesterday when some weird guy decided to rub cake all over the Mona Lisa after jumping up out of his wheelchair and revealing that he wasn’t actually an old woman. I think that the stunt had something to do with drawing attention to climate change – or at least that’s what the guy’s saying.

Anyway, you can see some strange footage of the incident below and apparently he said the following whilst he was being led away by officials too:

Fortunately, the Mona Lisa sits behind bulletproof glass so if you were worried that this cake might have irreversibly damaged Da Vinci’s masterpiece then you needn’t be – absolutely no harm was caused to the painting as it’s actually one of the most protected artworks in the history of the world. Gonna have to do a lot more than smudge cake on it buddy.

Not sure if there’s been any progress in regards to climate change thanks to his actions either. Kinda think it’s just been a massive lose-lose for the guy to be honest.
